Duplicates may be found in the Contacts tab after the initial release, and in the future if duplicate contacts are accidentally entered. To quickly remove merge contacts into a single record, we've built a “Merge Contacts” capability. This may be used to resolve duplicate contacts, however it only works for contacts who are not also clients. This includes contacts that hold ROIs, referrers, and emergency contracts, providers, etc. At this time, duplicate clients cannot be merged together.
To merge non-client contacts:
Open Contacts in the left navigation and Sort by: Name (A-Z).
If there are multiple contacts with the same name, quickly confirm they are the same person.
Select the merge button next to Create Contact and type in the name into the merge modal.
Select the contact(s) you want to 'Keep' (this contact’s information and relationships remain) and select one or more contacts to remove (removed contact's relationships are transferred to the 'Keep' contact). You will receive and confirmation prompt; it is important merge contacts intentionally, as they cannot be undone.
The merge button will remain present for any future manual duplicates but there will be no additional changes to the database that will result in the need to merge contacts in the future.
