In Ritten, Lab Templates are used to group commonly ordered lab tests together. These are often also referred to as panels.
Lab Templates help standardize ordering, reduce repetitive test selection, and streamline your ordering workflows.
Before You Get Started
Lab Templates can only be created after Ritten has completed the Ritten Lab Ordering integration process with your partnered lab.
As part of that setup, the labโs test compendium (menu of supported tests) must be uploaded into Ritten. This compendium determines which tests are available when creating templates and placing orders.
If your lab integration is not yet complete, the option to create lab templates will not be available.
Creating and Managing Lab Templates
To create or manage Lab Templates:
Go to the organization's Configurations tab
Select the Medical tab and select Order Templates
Note that this is also where you can set up medication and action order templates if your facility is using Ritten's MedPass and MAR workflows.
From here, the New Template button
If your organization is connected to multiple partnered labs, you'll be prompted to select a location.
Name the template and press Select Lab Tests to continue
All of the selected lab tests should then render and you can select all of the relevant tests
โPress Save Lab Template and the Order Template will then show in your organization's template library
When saved, you will have the option to view, edit, or archive existing lab templates
โ
Additional Option: Saving Templates During Ordering
Not only can templates be created by admins in Configurations, Lab Templates can also be created during the lab ordering process by selected the Save this set of tests as a lab order template checkbox in the Order confirmation page.
โ
This option is helpful when a commonly used panel is identified organically during day-to-day ordering.
